Chris Cowley was a graduate fellow in in the lab of Elaine Fuchs where he studied the long lasting effects that inflammation has on epithelial stem cells of the skin. He was interested in understanding the molecular mechanisms of how these stem cells establish and maintain an epigenetic memory of inflammation they have experienced. Prior to Rockefeller, he completed his B.Sc. at Ohio State University and worked as a research assistant at Harvard Medical School. In his free time he can be found either enjoying all the various cultural activities New York City has to offer or can be found in the swimming pool training or competing for the New York Athletic Club.
