Tom Wiley graduated in 2015 from Portland State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He worked at the Oregon Health & Science University as a technician for a year, before moving to New York City. After beginning at Rockefeller University as a technician, Tom became the Lab Coordinator for the Laboratory of Genome Maintenance. Tom studied karyomegalic interstitial nephritis in relation to the Fanconi anemia DNA damage response pathway. Outside of work, Tom is a trans activist, and he interned for Speaking of Transgender—a trans advocacy group that focuses on anti-discriminatory education and training relating to the proper treatment of transgender people using restroom and changing room facilities. In his free time, Tom and his partner take their two whippets hiking in the Hudson Valley.
